Privacy
PAI is a project about keeping your AI workflows on your own hardware. This website tries to hold itself to the same standard. No analytics, no cookies, no accounts — you can read every page without handing over anything about yourself.
TL;DR
- No analytics. No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or homegrown tracking.
- No cookies. This site sets zero cookies. Your browser won't carry any state from page to page that we control.
- No accounts, no logins, no email capture.
- No third-party scripts, fonts, or CDNs. Everything is served from
pai.direct. - No fingerprinting. The desktop shell runs locally in your browser and doesn't phone home.
What this site collects
Your visit is recorded in the webserver's access log — the IP, user-agent, and URL of each request. This is standard for any webserver and is needed to serve traffic and diagnose abuse. Logs are rotated automatically and not used for analytics, profiling, or advertising.
localStorage and sessionStorage are used to remember things like window positions on the desktop shell, whether you've already seen the boot animation, and your reduced-motion preference. This data never leaves your browser.
What this site doesn't do
- No user-identifying cookies — first-party or third-party.
- No cross-site tracking pixels, beacons, or fingerprinting scripts.
- No A/B testing or behavioral experiments run on visitors.
- No ads, no ad networks, no retargeting.
- No email marketing list — the changelog is an RSS feed, not a newsletter.
Third parties
Outbound links on this site (to GitHub, the graphical Rufus tool, balenaEtcher, etc.) are plain HTML links. When you click them, you're going to that third party directly — their privacy policies apply there, not here. We don't wrap clicks through a tracker.
Hosting infrastructure (DNS, CDN, server provider) can see request metadata by virtue of routing traffic. We don't share that data with anyone and don't use it for analytics.
The PAI OS itself
The operating system you flash to USB is covered in more detail on theSecurity page. In short: PAI runs entirely offline by default, does not phone home, and does not include telemetry. Model inference happens locally via Ollama — prompts never leave your machine.
